Harris Poll QuickQuery
What is an Omnibus?
Omnibus means a research study has a multiclient base. In other words, rather
than having to purchase an entire custom survey yourself to ask just a few
questions, your questions can be fielded with those of other clients in the same
survey instrument. Clients have the flexibility to purchase a single question or
as many questions as they would like.
About the Survey
Harris Poll QuickQuery omnibus surveys are administered online, allowing you to
ask questions and get accurate, projectable answers from 2,000 U.S. adult
respondents nationwide. Essentially, QuickQuery provides clients with reliable
research data within just a few days. QuickQuery surveys generally field 2-5
times each week (whenever we have enough questions to field), so you’re never
waiting long to get into a survey.
You can ask just one question or as many as 30 questions on a single survey.
QuickQuery surveys have full functionality. We can handle complex skip patterns,
randomization, grids, scales, multi-punch and single-punch formats, etc. You can
ask open-end questions, too – however there may be an additional cost and
extra turnaround time. And, since QuickQuery surveys are fielded online, you can
incorporate still graphics and images into your survey to help illustrate
concepts, products and ideas.
Questionnaire Design Help
Each QuickQuery consultant is an experienced researcher who’s trained and
ready to help with survey design issues. Consultants can work from a complete
set of questions that you’ve designed, or can work with you to develop a
questionnaire that matches your research objectives and budget.
Uses for QuickQuery include the following:
- Incidence testing
- Label testing
- Name tests
- Tracking studies
- Evaluating product ideas
- Evaluating purchase intent
- Concept screening
- Awareness and usage studies
- Public opinion issues (e.g., healthcare)
- Logo evaluations
- Testing positioning statements
- And much more…
Representative Results
QuickQuery results are representative of the U.S. adult population. Results
can be weighted to the U.S. general adult population or to the U.S. online adult
population, whichever is appropriate for a given survey. Other weighting schemes
are available.
Sample Size
The large sample size of 2,000 enables clients to segment data more deeply. And, this larger sample size provides better reporting for lower incidence target populations than that of a smaller sample (most omnibus studies offer a sample size of only 1,000).
If the relevant population for a particular set of
questions is smaller than the total U.S. adult population, the number of
relevant responses will depend on the incidence of the relevant group within the
U.S. adult population as a whole. For example, a nationally-distributed
population segment that makes up 50% of U.S. adults would get you 1,000
respondents.
Please note, however, that QuickQuery is a national sample. While some
regionalization may be possible, it is not well-suited for narrowly defined
populations or regions that make up less than 15% of the population.
QuickQuery sample comes from Harris Interactive’s multimillion member
cooperative respondent database. The outgoing sample is stratified by age,
gender and region.
Standard Deliverables
Once the surveys are completed the results are set up as data tables in a
Microsoft® Word format, one question per page. Responses are shown
down the side and demographic groups are displayed across the top. The tables
will include answers to your questions across 40+ standard demographic
subgroups, based on the following:
- Age within gender
- Household size
- Marital status
- Region
- Income
- Age and presence of children
- Employment status
- Education
View a sample of the
standard QuickQuery data table format, complete with two full pages of
demographic subgroups.
Customized banners can be included for an additional cost. Other deliverables
are available for all QuickQuery surveys by request, but usually require
additional time to produce and come at additional cost. These include:
- Executive summary (a simple, 2-3 page document, in Microsoft®
Word format, with 1-2 embedded charts, as needed, along with a summary of
key findings from the research)
- Data files (e.g., SPSS, ascii, etc.)
Typically, all deliverables are provided via email.
Cost
QuickQuery is priced on a per-question basis, and costs vary depending on
question type:
- $1,100 for multiple choice and open ended questions
- $1,600+ for grid-type questions
- $1.00 per coded response
- $100 per custom banner point
